SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
A little bit about you:
Hi, I'm Karen Altamirano, and I'm based in Mexico City. I have been working as a Social Media Manager since 2017.
A little bit about your role at PWB:
I'm in charge of keeping our community informed, creating the content plan, and executing the digital strategy across all our social media platforms.
What are you most passionate about?
I like to express myself and tell stories through voice, photography, writing, and watercolor. I am inspired by music, books, and poetry.
Why is decolonizing photography/storytelling important to you?
Is important to me because it challenges the historical power dynamics that have often silenced marginalized voices. By shifting away from colonial and exploitative narratives, we can create spaces for more authentic and inclusive stories.
What are your personal goals? How do they align with your work at PWB?
I want to be a great communicator. I love strategic communication as well as exercising my creativity. Additionally, I have always been involved with human rights and activism, so seeking out narratives that can be disruptive has always been part of my daily life.
