ABOUT THE partner

This NGO aims to conserve sun bears through holistic strategies – incorporating animal welfare, education, research, rehabilitation, ecotourism, community conservation, anti-poaching, and captive breeding. Their primary goal is to provide long-term living environment for captive bears that cannot be released, as well as raising awareness about this issue. 

assignment DETAILS

The photographer (and videographer) will visit the NGO’s key project sites – including their centre. He/she will also take photos of sun bears in the forest enclosures. The images (and videos) will be used for their marketing and promotional materials in order to help the NGO raise awareness among the general public. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable

  • Experience in overseas development and travelling in developing nations 

Essential

  • Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

  • Open to new experiences 

    *not suitable for persons with food allergies and insect phobias 

  • Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article of 500-750 words, written in third-person, upon completion of the project, to complement the images of this assignment.  

  • Mandatory completion of PWB Ethical Storytelling Certification prior to Assignment start date (Included in Assignment Cost)
