This nonprofit organization’s mission is to be a world class organization that brings together the vulnerable in the society by offering and providing mentoring programs and platforms for sharing their challenges and views to the outside world. They connect like-minded individuals, local and international organizations to create positive transformation by introducing their beneficiaries to projects that make them self-reliant. Their goals include: improving the educational status of orphans and their general welfare through admitting them to schools, and providing them with school materials – such as stationery, uniforms; participating in provisions of shelters for the widows living in the slums and rural area of republic of Kenya; establishing orphanage centres through collaborating with local and international partners; and providing a vocational and technical training for orphans and young widows.

assignment DETAILS

The videographer will visit several different projects. He/she will interview the NGO’s directors, staff, as well as orphans and widows participating in the NGO’s programs. He/she will also be introduced to the NGO’s clients living with disabilities; and visit a Widows Economic Empowerment Project for the purpose of interviewing. The videos will be used for fundraising purposes, and will be posted on the NGO’s website and social media.

QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable

  • Experience in overseas development and travelling in developing nations

 Essential

  • Proficient in videography (as well as photo-documentary)

  • Experience using editing software (for video and photography)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

  • Open to new experiences

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations

  • Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article of 600-800 words, written in third-person, upon completion of the project, to complement the images of this assignment.
