ABOUT THE partner

Founded in 2010, this NGO’s mission is to improve the wellbeing of people with disabilities in Vietnam. Their programs aim to improve the psycho-social and economic well-being of persons with disabilities (PWDs), including those who have been injured and disabled by landmines or UXOs, or have suffered limb loss from other war-related injuries.

assignment DETAILS

The focus will be documenting this NGO’s work based in various project sites. Specifically, the incumbent will be documenting survivors of landmines, Agent Orange, and other war-related injuries; rehabilitation initiatives; PWD self-help groups; PWD business groups; shelters; and other initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Experience in photo-documentary or photojournalism 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills 

  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient 

  • Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.  

 Desira

  • Experience in overseas development 

  • Experience travelling abroad in developing nations 

  • Sensitivity towards survivors of war/people with disabilities
