ABOUT our community partner
This non-governmental local organization (NGO) facilitates community health and well-being initiatives in rural Uganda through education, training and appropriate interventions. The organization is working on project development in collaboration with their local non-governmental and governmental partners in Iganga District, as well as the community members for whom the initiatives serve. Two areas of focus include access to sustainable safe-water sources, and education for prevention, and treatment programs for Obstetric fistula, which is particularly prevalent in Uganda.

The photographer will spend time with the NGO staff members and volunteer team and visit various sites to photograph their current projects/developments. The photos/videos will be used primarily as tools to educate people about the organization. During the project, the Associate will be required to organize a workshop for the NGO’s team on photography and storytelling.
Photos and (videos) would be used primarily as tools to educate people about this organization. The NGO is currently updating its website and would like to include more engaging, high-quality photos and videos, in addition to new photos in printed materials. Fundraising is a secondary purpose. Your images will also be shared by PWB to help support the work of the NGO and the PWB program.
Your job is to demonstrate the impact of the NGO through your storytelling and help convey to the value of its work. Your images should tell a story that highlights experiences of local communities and the NGO’s mission to promote good health and well-being.

Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article of 600-800 words, written in third-person, upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.
