ABOUT THE PARTNER

Founded in 2016, this NGO’s vision is to be a centre of excellence in advocating for the needs of the vulnerable members of the community. Their mission is to implement and generate projects that benefit the vulnerable persons of the community. They do this through vocational training, co-developing income-generating ventures, developing sources of clean water, and working towards environmental sustainability.  

assignment DETAILS

The focus will be documenting this NGO’s work based in various project sites. The incumbent will document various projects and programs run by the organization: The organization provides vocational skills training to vulnerable people in the community, helping them learn skills such as carpentry, masonry, tailoring, and other vocational skills. They work with the community to create viable income-generating ventures. They also have a goal to construct and rehabilitate safe clean water sources in the communities in which they work. They also have an initiative to work towards environmental sustainability by planting thousands of seedlings in the community.  

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Experience in photo-documentary or photojournalism and/or proficient in videography (seeking one photographer and one videographer)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient

  • Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) article 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.

 Desirable

  • Experience in overseas development

  • Experience travelling abroad in developing nations
