ABOUT our community PARTNER
This NGO was established in 2008 as a community-based organization supporting marginalized groups in Uganda, especially rural women and children who have experienced rape and sexual violence. They now provide the training and necessary resources that allow rural women and girls to achieve their full socio-economic and civic potential through education and access to opportunity.

This NGO offers a broad range of services and programs both directly to community as well as to community leaders who wish to become educators themselves. The programs include: Girls/Women Economic and Social Strengthening, Health programs that advocate access to clean water through wells, sexual, reproductive, maternal child health, HIV/AIDS and Nutrition programs, climate change resilience and adaption, free from Violence and Advocacy and Learning, and a Rape Help Crisis Centre. The photos will be used for fundraising purposes, social media, and other communications to motivate their existing supports and attract new supporters. Your images will also be shared by PWB to help support the work of the NGO and the PWB program.
Your job is to demonstrate the impact of the NGO through your storytelling and help convey to donors and grant programs the value of their financial support. Your images should tell a story that highlights experiences of local women and the NGO’s mission to promote equity and safety.
Experience in overseas development
Experience travelling abroad in developing nations
Experience in photo-documentary or photojournalism
Able to live and work in a rural and resource limited environment
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient Respect to cultural sensitivity as you will be working with vulnerable people on sensitive topics
Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article of 600-800 words, written in third-person, upon completion of the project, to complement the images of this assignment.
