ABOUT our community PARTNER

Established in 2019, this organization has a commitment to improving access to medical care and quality education for disempowered and marginalized populations in Trujillo, Peru and its surrounding areas. We deeply recognize the importance of cultural exchange and global awareness of such public health needs in low and middle income countries, and we work to fill those gaps through the use of international medical volunteers.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

The focus will be documenting this Organization’s work in 9 core community programs that focus on health education promotion, health campaigns, water, sanitation and hygiene interventions, an empowering women’s knitting program, children’s environmental programs, sexual and reproductive health education for girls, and training local Peruvian health students and doctors in the practice of public health.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Experience in photo-documentary or photojournalism

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

  • Physical fitness to withstand hot and humid conditions when documenting field work

  • Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient

 Desirable

  • Some familiarity with Spanish

  • Experience in overseas development

  • Experience travelling abroad in developing nations
