ABOUT THE PARTNER PROJECT
This NGO facilitates community development and intercultural learning with a focus on youth in Canada and Latin America. Their goals include compassion and social justice across borders.
Upon arrival in Managua, the photographer will be introduced to the NGO’s staff, as well as the Country Director. During the first and second week, he/she will visit several project sites in the nearby area – including Santa Julia, La Calera, Camoapa, Esteli, and Somotillo. The images will help the organization document their progress of all of their projects and update donors and foundations on the impact of their financial support. They will also use the images on social media, for fundraising purposes and print materials.
Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Open to new experiences
Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) article 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.
Experience in overseas development and travelling in developing nations
Note: As per the NGO, you should expect approximately $320 out of pocket expenses based on your food and recreational preferences.
