ABOUT THE partner
This NGO’s mission is to help Guatemalan children, families, and communities reach their full potential. They goals include: children’s home – which provides a stable, loving and safe environment for the most vulnerable children in Guatemala. They also provide a quality private education.; outreach programs – which provide bunk beds, stoves, and water filters to impoverished villages (as well as months food deliveries, health care initiatives, an English immersion school for the villages). Their long-term goals include bringing in water systems, electricity, job opportunities and mentorship.

Upon arrival in Guatemala, the photographer will be introduced to the NGO’s team. H/she will visit their Children’s Home, painting project, and photograph their daily activities.
The photographer will additionally photographer bunk beds, stoves and filter deliveries in village of Yalu; visit educational program in Guatemala City and hygiene clinic in Yalu. The photos will be used for print materials, social media, website, and annual gala and other fundraising efforts.
Storytelling - Must submit a minimum of one (1) original article, 800-1000 words upon completion of the project, to complement the images/footage of this assignment.
Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism
Experience using editing software (Photoshop, InDesign)
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Adaptable to new and different situations, flexible and patient
