ABOUT our community PARTNER

This organization’s mission is to create new opportunities for the Ixil People, an Indigenous community in Guatemala, through sustainable programs of positive change.

assignment DETAILS

You will be introduced to the organization’s staff and volunteers and visit several project sites. You will have the exclusive opportunity to interview local Indigenous communities and discuss their challenges, as well as their hopes and dreams after surviving genocide. Your images and will be used on the organization’s blog, website, social media, and public speaking engagements to help advocate for cultural survival.



  • Proficient in photo-documentary/photojournalism  

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills 

  • Respect to cultural sensitivity as you will be working with vulnerable populations  


  • Adaptable to new and different situations
