ABOUT our community PARTNER

Founded in 2010, this NGO’s mission is to defend the rights and aid the development of girls who are at risk from, or victims of, violence and sexual exploitation in Brazil. Their aim is to promote actions which combat abuse and exploitation and to provide to girls the means to live creative and meaningful lives.


The focus will be documenting this NGO’s work based in three project sites in three towns. In particular, the incumbent will be documenting initiatives that promote overcoming trauma, developing a sense of self-esteem and identity, and connecting with others; initiatives that promote education; initiatives that promote skill-development for economic gain and social mobility (outside of the sex trade); initiatives that teach skills for self-expression; and initiatives that support girls and their families in seeking justice against their perpetrators. 



  • Can obtain and provide a clear Police Background Check/Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Ability to work with vulnerable populations, understanding and sensitivity to trauma narratives, emotional intelligence  

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills 

  • Adaptable, flexible and patient


  • Any Portuguese 

  • Experience in overseas development 

  • Enjoys working with kids and teens 

  • Experience travelling abroad in developing nations
